Traces of Identity
Ara Oshagan shows three interconnected bodies of work spanning over fifteen years: portraits of survivors of the Armenian Genocide of nearly 100 years ago, images from a mountainous and war-torn region of Armenia and the experience of a multicultural and hybrid community of Armenians in Los Angeles.
Ara Oshagan is a photographer and installation artist whose work revolves around the intersecting themes of identity, community and history. His first book, Father Land, was published in 2010.
