The Annenberg Space for Photography is pleased to offer a lecture by photographer Rick Rickman.

Rickman's work has taken him around the world into extraordinary situations involving people, cultures, natural resource and world events. His work successfully crosses over many disciplines of photography to capture compelling imagery. Rickman garnered international recognition in 1985 after winning the Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography.

Rickman's work has graced the covers of TIME, Newsweek, US News & World Report, People and Men's Journal. His stories and documentary projects have appeared in National Geographic, LIFE, GEO, Audubon, Travel & Holiday, Islands and others. Rickman's work has also been exhibited internationally as part of traveling galleries for the Smithsonian Institute in the United States. His project of Navy Seal training was a major photographic exposition in the tenth annual VISA Pour l'Image Festival International in Perpignan, France.

Rickman's presentation will center on his book, The Wonder Years. Published by Chronicle Books, this inspiring book showcases the athletic lifestyles of seniors. It shines a light on the effect that continued engagement in active lifestyles for people over 60 can have on longevity. During the lecture the audience will be able to view amazing images of seniors surfing, running marathons ad completing other impressive physical feats; as well as hear about Rickman's experience of capturing their lively spirit through his lens.
