IRIS Nights Presents Kevin Lynch
Art Brewer
Thursday, January 28, 6:30-8:00pm

IRIS Nights delivers a visual kick with a powerful presentation by multifaceted photographer Kevin Lynch. For this lecture Lynch will be sharing images from his book Octagon (Powerhouse Books 2007 & trade edition DK Publishing), a photographic narrative of the mixed martial arts fighters. Created in collaboration with The Ultimate Fighting Championship, this limited edition tome of highly detailed and artfully rendered portraits captures the confidence, fear and passion of these fierce competitors.

Kevin Lynch is internationally recognized for his growing portfolio of conceptual portraiture. At turns graphic, glamorous and graceful, Lynch's celebrity, fashion, advertising and fine art images have appeared in museums and galleries throughout Europe and the United States, including Hamiltons Gallery in London and Christophe Van De Weghe Fine Arts Gallery in New York, and The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.

Lynch's work has been featured in such publications as Wallpaper, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Men's Journal, L'Uomo Vogue, InStyle and Rolling Stone Magazine. He has numerous commercial clients throughout the entertainment industry. And his current book release Watercolours, is a series of abstract impressionistic nude images created in collaboration with his wife Hillary.

Brewer's photographs are known for speaking with penetrating truth enlivened with an edgy wit. His unique colloquial voice is capable of a restrained grandeur that alerts us to something transcendent in each captured moment.
