Based in Paris and New York City, Rasmus Mogensen has worked professionally as a fashion and beauty photographer since 1995. At age 17, Mogensen had his first independent photo exhibition at Gallery Photografica in Copenhagen.
He has photographed for a variety of magazines including Vogue, Tatler, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire and Wallpaper. He has created numerous worldwide advertising campaigns for clients such as Vidal Sassoon, Shiseido, L'Oréal, Elizabeth Arden, Kérastase, Diesel, Wolford, Escada and Swarovski. Mogensen also worked on television commercials for both fashion and beauty brands.
In his Iris Nights lecture, Mogensen will share his thoughts about nudity in society, the desperate need that an artist has for recognition, and why the Helmut Newton image that both inspired and touched him the most by is not the one that you would ever think of.
